#Two player car racing game series
Rad Racer (I could've swore that the Rad Racer series had multiplayer but they don't) Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing (I thought this was multiplayer like Gremlin's 16 bit racers but it's not) Quite a few more single player games compared to what I expected.

Going through the US library of racing games for the NES shows a breakdown like this. I'd say by 16-bit multiplayer was pretty standard but I think with 8-bit single-player was common. It definitely was more common then than later on with the 16 bit era so I agree. Even many releases with fancier presentations like Stunt Race FX, Virtua Racing, and the Domark titles supported multiplayer.Įdit: Add F-Zero (SNES) and Power Drive (Genesis) to that group of titles that lack a multiplayer component.Įdit: Add F-Zero (SNES) and Power Drive (Genesis) to that group of titles that lack a multiplayer component.I'd say by 16-bit multiplayer was pretty standard but I think with 8-bit single-player was common. The list for single player only titles on the other hand will be much shorter since multiplayer was near universal for this genre at that time unlike today where local multiplayer is a 50/50 proposition at best.įor titles lacking multiplayer, just a few arcade conversions immediately come to mind like a few 1st party Sega titles, Hard Drivin'/Race Drivin', etc. A complete list for this category like you're after is going to comprise ~95% of the titles released in that genre for these consoles. You'd be much better off making a list of what 8/16 bit console racers don't have multiplayer support. But before someone beats me in mentioning the best one of them all, Top Gear for the Super Nintendo obviously supports two players. Use the M or the Y key to use the nitro boost.I'm lazy but maybe I'll work a bit harder later on (Racers must compromise about 1/3 of my collection). Use the arrow keys or the WASD keys to drive your car. Both solo 1-player and 2-player options.RHM Interactive developed Two Punk Racing. Get behind the steering wheel and fasten your seatbelt as you play the games listed under our collection of online driving games. Use nitro wisely, as high speeds are not always your friend! Keep your eyes on the road! On the right side of the screen, you can see the level you're on, your remaining time, and the nitro boost meter. You can unlock the rest as you complete levels one by one. In the beginning, only 2 of them are available.

Before heading to the road, you should select a car to drive. Pick one of the levels to start the game.

The second mode is the 2-player mode, in which you race against your friend to be the first player to reach the finish line. In this mode, you try to reach the finish line in each level before you run out of time. The first mode in the single-player mode. This game offers two game modes, each with a different objective. Jump into one, and show others that you're the master of these challenging tracks through multiple levels. Despite still acting like regular cars, the ones you'll ride in this game are faster and stronger. Some might envision the future world with flying cars. In Two Punk Racing, the neon roads of the futuristic city are waiting for you.
